When something is unbalanced it becomes widely used as we have learned from the epidemic when Tac ARs ruled the day, quickly nerfed to fit into the appropriate DPS range as its counterparts, then of course you had the rail rifle just recently which got reduced as well, yet still stands above in DPS while accuracy due to recoil is the balancing factor.
Now we see masses of scouts with cloaks and shotguns swarming the field and think to myself...how much abuse or preferential treatment should one setup get before being re-adjusted to a balanced level?
When the k/d of every game is tipped in the favor of shotgun toting scouts and cloaking devices, i'd say something needs to be rebalanced.
Roughly half of the matches i have played have all ended in clone depletion defeats due to the massive number of clones now favoring the cloak and shotgun method, with this in mind iI think its quite clear to many people just how unbalanced things currently are.
So far to balance this problem I have seen a few possible solutions suggested: 1. Firing delay between cloak deactivation and weapon activation. Paran Tadec wrote: It appears that you can fire immediately after the cloak turns off except the player is still cloaked while the animation finishes....firing delay.
2. Increase cool down time and decrease module active time. Alena Ventrallis wrote:The cloak has too much uptime for too little cool down.
3.Visibility variation based on distance from viewer. HappyAsshole1 wrote:they should be light blue.. hard to see at distance but at close you see them easily.
4. Flux grenades disrupting active cloaking devices. bolsh lee wrote:I would almost be fine with cloaks if Flux Grenades actually de-cloaked them, like you would think they should. Average number of scouts:6-10 Average number of flux grenades:2 Maybe im being pessimistic but i think this should be just a default grenade feature instead of a tactic to rely upon for cloak balancing.
5. Aquiring common sense as to the purpose of the cloak for stealth avoidance instead of combat ambush tactics. Dexter307 wrote: So your bad then? Only bad people are complaining about cloaks. Get good
